Ms. Sharon Anise Blagmon

Celebration of Life Obituary: Mom Sharon Anise Blagmon (Jackson) was born on December 15, 1953 to the late John Edward Jackson and Gertrude Bey Jackson, departed this life unexpectedly due to a life-Threatening illness as she worked tirelessly on the frontlines as a healthcare employee on Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Randallstown, Md. She leaves to cherish her memory, her only daughter Aja, 1 son of love, Darnell, 1 sister Martha Garrison-Hill, 1 brother-in-law Charles Hill, 1 sister-in-law, Arlene Jackson, 1 grandson Gabriel, 2 grandchildren of love, Darnell Jr and Khamya Renee and a host of other relatives, friends and co-workers. Sharon now joins her other siblings whom have preceded her in death: Leroy, Harry Sr (Bubby), John Sr(Johnny), Paul Sr, James (Jimmy), Anthony, Theodus (Boo-Boo), Dennis and Virginia (Sissy). Sharon graduated from Duval Senior High School in 1971, where she was involved in Track and Field, Concert Choir and the Health Care Club. She then went on to graduate from The University of Maryland, Baltimore School of Nursing in 1976 with the help of a grant from Maryland Congresswoman, Gladys Noon Spellman. During her favorite pastimes, Sharon was a faithful “Trekkie”. Oftentimes collecting Star Trek memorabilia and never missing a marathon broadcasted on television. She was also an avid Jeopardy champ always knowing the answers before the contestants. Shows like the Bachelor and Dancing With the Stars always brought joy to her life. Most of all, she loved spending time with her daughter and grandson. Weekend trips to amusement parks, roller coaster rides with Gabe and concerts and shopping with her daughter Aja. Life as a Nurse... Sharon began her nursing career at Doctors Community Hospital in November 1976. It was during this time she developed and enhanced her skills as a Med Surgical and ICU/CCU Nurse. After 25 years, she left Doctors Community Hospital and embarked on a new journey working for the State of Maryland as a Psychiatric Nurse in 2001 at Spring Grove Medical Center in Catonsville, MD where she worked for 6 years. Sharon continued her career in Psychiatric Nursing at Shepherd-Pratt Hospital in Towson, MD in 2007. Sharon’s last and final field of nursing landed her in long-term adult care at FutureCare Nursing Home facilities in Baltimore, MD. It was here at FutureCare where she was able to utilize all of her nursing skills and training that were developed throughout the years in order to mentor her fellow and upcoming nursing staff and also care for her patients that held a special place in her heart. Nursing was a part of every fiber of her being and she would always be just a phone call or a car trip away to offer medical advise, a helping hand or medical attention to family and friends.
