Ms. Michele Catrice Harris

Michele Catrice Harris, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the age of 55, at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Maryland. Born on April 4, 1970, in Washington, D.C., Michele was the cherished daughter of Joseph Willard Harris, Jr. and Norma Yvonne Harris. She was educated in the District of Columbia Public School System and proudly graduated from Ballou High School. From a young age, Michele accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized at Ascension Baptist Church in Suitland, Maryland, under the leadership of Pastor Wilbert Campbell. Her faith was unwavering, and she continuously sought deeper understanding of the Word of God. She lived by the scripture and held firmly to the promise of Christ's return. Her faith-strong and steadfast-was truly that of a mustard seed. After high school, Michele pursued a career in security, beginning at Ronald Reagan National Airport. Her professionalism, dedication, and strength in interpersonal communication earned her a position at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD, where she served with distinction. Michele's greatest joy came from being a mother. She deeply loved her children, Eyndia and T.C., who were the center of her world and the light of her life. She was a proud member of the DIVAS, a women's social group that reflected her outgoing and loving nature. Michele was known for her radiant spirit, her infectious laugh, and the warmth she brought to everyone she encountered. Family, friends, and even casual acquaintances were drawn to her joyful energy and her gift of encouragement-often shared through daily inspirational messages and memes. Michele loved dancing, binge-watching her favorite shows like NCIS and Chicago P.D., attending concerts, and shopping-especially on Amazon. A true seafood foodie, she also had a signature dish-roast beef-which she loved to prepare for gatherings. Summer wouldn't be complete without her in the pool, surrounded by the music she loved: oldies, rhythm and blues, and gospel. Michele was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Sarah Alice Hawkins. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving parents Norma Yvonne Harris and Joseph Willard Harris, Jr. (Mena Harris); her devoted children Eyndia Pannell and Tae'Jon Clark (T.C.); her siblings Joseph Willard Harris III and Yolanda Tonica Harris (Simon Payne); her nieces and nephews: Dea'Jana Gilyard, Mikayla Ford, Kennedy Ford, Joseph Willard Harris IV, and Aliyah Harris; great-nieces and nephews: Rylee Cooper, Shawn Johns Jr., Jace Gilyard Jr., and Skylar Scarborough; and a host of extended family members and friends who loved her dearly. Michele's legacy is one of love, laughter, faith, and family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. "Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
