Mr. Gary Cooper Oesby

Gary Cooper Oesby was born on October 25, 1959 in Washington, DC. His parents Mittie Bivens and Babe Oesby having great love and space in their hearts adopted Gary shortly after his birth and raised, pampered, and loved him. A typical child growing up in the heart of Washington, DC, Gary attended DC Public Schools and he graduated from Dunbar High School. As a young man, Gary was introduced to auctioneering at Weschler’s Auctions, where he established a lasting career. Through his work at Weschler’s he met his best friend and brother Ronnie Lyons. In the early 80’s, Gary met Shirley Ann Robinson and in 1984 the two were joined in wedlock. From their union came five children, Antonio Rowe, Amanda Robinson, Garry Robinson, Ashley Robinson, and Sabrina Robinson. Unfortunately, his marriage with Shirley Ann would later dissipate. Gary was blessed to be lucky in love a second time when he met Percilla Whitley. Percilla and Gary remained life partners until her death. Through their relationship Gary became a father to Percilla’s six children Nadine, Tony, Willie, Sandy, JT and the late Marjorie and grandfather to Cierra, Tiffany, Ladawn, Anthony, and Lakita (Smurf). Gary enjoyed life and lived his life to the fullest. In his spare time, he loved to fish, listen to music and spend time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren Gary is proceeded in death by his mother Mittie L. Bivens and father Babe Oesby, Shirley Ann Robinson, Percilla Whitley and Brother Lawrence Staton. He leaves to cherish his memory his children Antonio Rowe (Tabitha), Amanda Robinson, Garry Robinson (Devone), Ashley Robinson (Tracy Williams Jr.), Sabrina Robinson, Nadine, Tony, Willie, Sandy, and JT. Best friend and brother Ronnie Lyons (Cheri). Grandchildren Shamia Taylor, Desean Robinson, TyKale Robinson, Jerryle Robinson, Trae’Sean Robinson, Nasir Robinson, Quran Robinson, Tracyion Robinson Amiya Rowe, Keon Pickett, Jr. Amare Rowe, Antonae’ Cooper, Antonio Cooper, Jr., Cierra, Tiffany, Ladawn, Antony and Lakita and great grandchildren SeQuan, NeVaeh, Isaiah, Sequoya, Devin, Yyion, and E’Nyah. He also leaves a host of family and friends. If you had the pleasure of meeting Gary, you were indeed blessed. His energy, love, and witty humor is unmatched. Gary was well loved by everyone, and will be truly missed!
