DEBRA ANNE RAJI

Debra Anne Raji was born on February 13,1957 in Prince Georges County, MD to Hamilton Ignacious Plummer Sr. and Rosa Marie Johnson. Debra was raised in Washington, DC and educated in DC Public Schools. Early in life she enjoyed poetry and writing poems. She would later follow her brother Robert into modeling, igniting a love for fashion. Debra would work hard to save money for shopping, her favorite pastime. Her fashion style was admired by many that knew her. Debra also loved music with Minnie Ripperton, Stephanie Mills, Donny Hathaway and Sade being among her favorites but her number one was Phyllis Hyman. In 1970 Debra met and fell in love with David Moore. Five years later their love would result in the birth of her son Damone Plummer. Once her son was born Debra would find a love for customer service as she would become the front entrance manager of The Capital Childrens Museum throughout the eighties. Debra would eventually work for and retire from The District of Columbia Housing Authority. There she would often encounter clients in public that would greet her and tell her how nice of a person she is. Not one to stay idle too long, Debra would begin work as a concierge for Gateway Georgetown Condominiums where she was truly loved by the tenants and staff. Debra opened a new chapter later in life when she was swept off her feet by Kayode Raji in 1994, their whirlwind romance would lead to their marriage in 1995. Together they would often vacation and enjoy life to the fullest. Their favorite get away spot was Miami. Debbie as she was affectionately known as believed in tough love and always wanted what was best for her family. She cherished her nieces and nephews dearly and loved embracing their youth and energy as they wreaked havoc on her sisters and brothers. Debra was always willing to care for one of her nieces or nephews when needed or provide whatever help the family required. That genuine love, care and affection made her a favorite among not just family but everyone that knew her. Debra Anne Raji was called home to rest on January 16, 2025. She is preceded in death by her father Hamilton I. Plummer Sr, her mother Rosa M. Gaskins, brother Robert L. Johnson and sister Cynthia D. Plummer. Debra leaves to cherish her memory her son Damone W. Plummer Sr., her grandsons Damone W Plummer Jr and Thaddeus Dickens Jr. Her siblings Hamilton (Paula) Plummer, Jacqueline (Renee) Williams, Sandra (Jimmy) McLaughkin and William Plummer. Her nieces and nephews. Anthony, Robert, Christian and Christopher Plummer, Ashley Garner, Donnell Gaskins, Amoni and Shanika Fashola, Kemi Aboagye, Chloe, Jacob Chyna and Charity McLaughlin and Tameka Dubose. As well as a host of great nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Debra's life at the following services: A wake will be held on February 1, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, both at Pope Funeral Home Forestville Chapel. The family appreciates all the love and support during this difficult time. Debra will be missed dearly but will always live on in our hearts.
